Dan, Re: My estimate is that, including Xbox sales, Intel unit sales were solidly down for Q1.

Why guessing when you can get the numbers straight from the horse's mouth:

intel.com

** Intel Architecture microprocessor unit shipments were approximately flat sequentially, including shipments for the Microsoft* Xbox*.

And what about microprocessor unit sales without Xbox units?

jc-news.com

<Eric> Hi, thanks. Paul, can you give an idea what the processor units would have been excluding the X Box sales on quarter to quarter and Andy, can you give some finer granularity on the efficiencies that you have been achieving in the fabs that led to these better than expected gross margins?

<Paul> Without X Box, the volume would have been down a little bit, but better than we expected.

So let's summarize: Overall CPU unit sales were flat. Overall ASPs were up. Without Xbox CPU unit sales were down. ASPs for Xbox CPUs are probably fixed. That means: Xbox sales were up and Non-Xbox ASPs were also up. That's not too surprising since P4 ASPs got a solid lift in early Q1 with the introduction of the 2.2 GHz Northwood.

What can we expect this quarter? Since Xbox sales are very slow in Europe and Japan and demand has cooled down somewhat in the US we can expect Xbox unit sales to be flat at best (probably down). That will help overall ASPs but will probably also mean that overall units will be down. That's of course assuming a seasonal Q2.
