Dan3 - You wrote Compaq knows what's coming from Intel and AMD, and they may have concluded they can finally nail Dell once they have the Hammers.

Compaq thought the same thing when they acquired DEC and the Alpha processor - didn't they?
Didn't work, did it?
You think Compaq's customers are going to risk their corporate business on a first generation CPU, first generation chip set, unproven everything, with only a 2-way upside possibility - when proven 2-way, 4-way, 8-way, 16-way and up capability are available from Intel and its chip set suppliers?
Before you answer, tell me AMD' stock price - and reflect upon what that means for AMD's future - as predicted by investors.
