And the Philistines came to the region (being sea-faring) LATER than the Hebrew, right??

Thus, in a contest of "who was there first", the Israelis win hands down...

As for investigating, preserving, or regenerating their Philitine culture, I see very little represented in present day Palestinian society that could show the connection to the Philistines... It would appear they were completely marginalized into the Arabic/Muslim cultures derived from the Arabian peninsula.

Whereas, the Jews, when they came to the region, re-established Hebrew, a dead language, as their mother tongue, reinstituted long-held traditions from the past (and those which had been preserved) through the Diaspora, as well as taking steps to engage in massive archaeological projects directed at revealing bibilical history... right??

I guess when I see the Palestinians taking such steps, then I will be able to call them a "nation" too....
