,I>So far as I'm aware, there has been no allegation of a crime having been committed. As I said, we buy oil from Saddam every day. But you act as if Cheney was selling equipment to Saddam, which couldn't be further from the truth; Cheney was a CEO of a company that had subsidiaries twice removed, selling an immaterial amount of oilfield supplies, for a period of weeks (until Cheney divested Halliburton of the companies).

You know, and I know, that once again, you can't find anything substantive to criticize the administration for, you're trying to make something of nothing. This is typical for liberals. Just bend the truth to make it fit whatever set of facts you need for it to.

The period of time was at least months; the $28 million would have been a good quarter's profit for HAL in 1998 and 1999; and he denied it twice and then back tracked.

But what amazes me is that he didn't even see it as a problem until it was brought to his attention.
