I have been in Puerto Rico lolling in the sun for the last few days. But also just returning to real life as much as possible as this is the loveliest time of year in Dallas. Soon it will be 100 degrees and we will all return to our air-conditioned caves until fall and I suppose I will be driven back to the computer in a desperate search for human contact. Reading a great book on the mideast called From Beirut to Jerusalem by Thomas Friedman (recommended by X) in an attempt to learn something about it all. Have you read it? I think it (or something similar) should be required reading for highschoolers. My ignorance, and I would guess the ignorance of most average Americans judging from some of the opinions I read and hear, is appalling. I wonder if students learn anything at all about the history of this region. I'm buying copies for the boys. Let' see. That's all that's happening here. We go move Ammo back home May 4. I can't wait. I know that will be-- interesting after my last trip there. I carry your phone number when I go to LA, did I ever tell you that? You never know when your phone might ring and you will hear my cheery voice saying, Freddy? Are you busy?
