If you go back a year- year and a half to the old Gold Stock thread before it was wrecked by Gold Tutor and when Bob Johnson participated, you will see Bob and I waxing macro issues all the time. We had some of the best heated debates on this anywhere (IMHO <g>), well worth reading through if you are inclined. Subject 33190 Then one day it dawned on me that macro, top down investing wasn't really making me any money. So now I'm a converted and dedicated (and VERY happy) micro, bottoms up investor: a stock picker. I'm still quite friendly to the big rally gold bull argument and don't just ignore POG/POS trends, but it's secondary to how I actually select my plays. I definitely refuse to use $400 POG as the basis of my investing decisions.
