RSTN is metro, Extreme is ethernet protocol only. RSTN routers are more expensive because they have incorporated all different protocols. EXtreme is betting internet is going "all" ethernet in the future. Probably will take 5 years minimum. Extreme sells equipment to companies that only are ethernet, so their routers are much cheaper. regards, bt
