"Dubious" does not connote a very firm position. If your position is firm, then it must encompass sado-masochism in all its forms so long as consensual, as well as the numerous other examples that I see being mentioned here of, ah, "unconventional" sex.

"Encompass" for what purpose? If you're talking about specifically moral objections, or legal ones, then my position is, firmly, that what any two adults do together in their bedroom without involving anyone else because they both want to is not what the word "moral" is about -- and surely shouldn't be illegal. (Or any three people, or any ten).

There are plenty of sexual things that make me feel sick to my stomach to think of. I've seen on TV people doing things to which my response, was oh, YUCK, and "those are some sick puppies."

But I don't think, "They are immoral" if all parties involved are freely-choosing albeit kinky, or neurotic, adults. I may think "they are sick," or "they are weird," or "they are disgusting," even. But "immoral" related to adults going where their weird bliss lies is foolish. It was foolish and is now considered risible when it was applied to oral sex (i gather you would still apply it to oral sex that doesn't culminate in vaginal intercourse) and it's foolish applied to other acts that are freely chosen, bring, by their report, pleasure to their practitioners, and don't involve others, even if, should others find out about it, others say OH YUCK YOU DISGUSTING PEOPLE.

We are definitely, I gather, on the same side where "consensual" is concerned. Anything not consensual between married couples or others, and this includes missionary position, turning the light on (or off), and doing it on the floor is immoral, is what I'd say.

Oral sex was illegal until recently in many states. I imagine that everybody reading this thread would be in jail now, had we lived in a different time and place and got caught, and I think that fact should give you pause before you recommend making sex acts that disgust you illegal.

I don't believe you and I have any great problem with all of this. We each have our opinions, and I don't believe either of us disputes the right of the other to hold those opinions and to express them.

Of course.

Edit:

Do you think the acts that repulse you, if engaged in consensually by adults, should be made illegal? Bondage games, for example. Threesomes? Spanking? Gay sex? What is your view on declaring certain sexual acts illegal?
