You have just seen one of the better bull traps of this bear market sprung on the bulls. A false gap up off an illusory double bottom last week that had channel folks and others looking up only to get stranded on an island with the gap down this morning. Make no mistake about it, this is a mean market. Re: "The market will take off this afternoon." Best that can be hoped for is a short covering bounce. Don't look to me for it <g> as today's action still leaves stranded longs from all of last week looking down from an island.
