Mr. Peres could not be the prime minister of Israel. He lacks the public trust, the public confidence. He is not strong enough. The PA had Barak, he made the deal that noone on the Israeli side dared to offer. He was there, a Sadat like person, but, and this is key, Arafat was no Begin. It takes two. Then we had only one party that wanted to end the conflict. Today, maybe we have one (Sharon) but most people on this thread think we have no one that wants peace. Even if you had an Israeli Dove in power (and that won't happen as long as Israeli's feel they need a hawk to protect them from suicide bombs) you still need to find another horse that wants to drink the water. I don't see him or her yet.
