It's too bad Foreign Minister Peres in not the current Prime Minister of Israel...IMO, if he was we'd be closer to peace in The Middle East.

When Shimon Peres was Prime Minister of Israel, Hamas blew up enough Israeli buses to ensure that he would not remain Prime Minister, and Bibi Netanyahu won the next election. Arafat was committed to controlling Hamas, but he has never tried very hard. Maybe Arafat also prefers that the likes of Netanyahu and Sharon are Israeli Prime Ministers?
