| len, I am assuming that you are referring to the Orthodox Jews in an English speaking country. Elsewhere, they use another word than God, and many still try to use a name similar to Yaweh. Language can play tricks on us all. It has been determined by those well versed in translation, that Jesus is, in fact, a Greek word, and that His Hebrew, or Aramaic, name was something like Yeshua, which is the same as Joshua to us. Be that as it may, a name is of little importance. The being that the name is connected to is the main consideration, IMO. |
