Interest on convertible debentures was C$3,233,000 versus C$6,999,000.
The company said that, following the reorganization of Telecom Americas and the adoption of a plan of disposition for Canbras and Genesis, it is now treating Canbras,
Genesis and Axtel as discontinued operations.
It said total subscribers at March 31 were up 25% from normalized subscribers at March 31.
Normalized results reflect, on a pro-forma bass, the same ownership of the company in each of the operating companies of Telecom Americas that actually existed in the
first quarter of 2002.
It said it had a normalized net loss from continuing operations after interest on convertible debentures of C$221 million in the year earlier first quarter on normalized
revenues of C$132 million.
The company said consolidated EBITDA rose to C$41 million in its latest quarter from normalized EBITDA of C$24 million.
