My profound cynicism about the test-taking process stood me well, then. The answers I sought to give AIMR's graders were those for which they were looking. Hence, I have a gigantic, official-looking certificate that makes my girlfriend jealous -- her much harder-won doctorate from Berkeley is a small, subtle piece, which I much prefer esthetically, but which she finds unsatisfying.

And women say that size doesn't matter.. -g-
