John,

You might still recognize the layout of the streets, but that would be it for that area. I believe Hi. has doubled its population since the time you were here. Sugar is gone. No seas of green to cover that landscape. Houses everywhere. Pearlridge Shopping Center in Aiea was problably just being built when you departed. Its second in size to Ala Moana. Its still beautiful, but almost everyone works 60 or more hours a week to live here. They say its the price of paradise.
