Kaplan Fox Seeks To Recover Losses For Investors Who Purchased Eagle Building Technologies, Inc. Securities

NEW YORK, Apr 23, 2002 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Kaplan Fox (http://kaplanfox.com) has filed a class action against Eagle Building Technologies, Inc. ("Eagle Building" or the "Company") (OTC: EGBT chart, msgs) and Anthony M. D'Amato in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. The suit is brought on behalf of all persons or entities who purchased or otherwise acquired securities of Eagle Building between April 18, 2001 and February 14, 2002, inclusive (the "Class Period").

The complaint charges Eagle Building and Anthony M. D'Amato with violations of the federal securities laws. The complaint alleges, among other things, that during the Class Period the Company (a) improperly recorded revenue from its construction business in India and made false and misleading statements regarding its India operations, and (b) made false and misleading statements regarding its post-September 11 business endeavors, including an airport baggage security system, mail sterilization technology, and money laundering detection software. As a result of defendants' misrepresentations, Eagle Building's stock price was artificially inflated during the Class Period, trading as high as $12.30. On the Company's February 14 announcement, the Company's stock fell 68% to $1.44 on heavy trading.

Plaintiff seeks to recover damages on behalf of the Class and is represented by Kaplan Fox & Kilsheimer LLP. Our firm, with offices in New York, San Francisco, Chicago and New Jersey, has many years of experience prosecuting investor class actions and actions involving financial fraud.
