What's so strange about FRE doing any kind of swaps? Lots of companies use derivatives to hedge currency, interest rate and inflation risks. It's what a company does with those derivatives that determines viability. I'll bet FRE and FNM have a huge portfolio of derivatives. It would only make sense and a natural course of doing business. Can you point out the specific irregularities?
