Hate to burst your bubble, but Canada lost to Europe and Chile on Asbestos and lost to Brazil on illegal subsidies to Bombardier. Lost to the US on Patents.

Try the simple google search - 'canada loses at wto' it will yield most of the above (and more).

Now if you watch this thread - plenty of Americans question and debate their policies. Many take a decided anti-establishment bias. What would be nice sometime is to see some Canadians openly debate any policies that impact bilateral relationships.

The fact is that all governments try to promote their industries while seeming to want free-trade.

When the US pushes free trade are American markets fair game for dumping? Absolutely not. However, because of the political fodder (think steel) not everything the US government calls dumping passes WTO muster. But its not always clear - the world is a murky place.
