All I need is one example to show that my statement is true, because if one time such an abortion was done even though it was not medically necessary, then my statement is true. People who have performed late term abortions that where not medically necessary have talked about doing so, so you have more then one case where elective late term abortions have been performed in the US. It would be hard to get an exact number but I don't need an exact number to back up my statement.

Tim, what you seem to forget is that before there was legalized abortions, there were illegal abortions........and many of them were late term and usually the woman died or was seriously injured.

The people who oppose abortions for religious purposes have no way of proving that there truly is a God, let alone that the soul enters the embryo at the time of embryo's formation.

And the people who are not religious but are opposed on the grounds abortion kills humans albeit embryo sized humans have no way of proving that the embryo is sentient, conscious and/or human......at least not in the first trimester which is where most states draw the line on abortions.

However, its okay for the anti abortionists/conservatives to harass, injure and kill MDs and nurses and abortion clinic administrative staff in the name of God. And yet these same people profess to be strong advocates for individual rights particularly when it comes to carrying guns but then they renege on that concept when a woman wants an abortion because she was raped or her MD told her she could die trying to give birth or her birth control failed her. This all makes a lot of sense. Its like when Bush said he was for states' rights but went running to the Sup. CT when FL didn't give him what we wanted.

That double standard seems to be rife in the Rep. party.
