>The Butcher......from his days when an Israeli tribunal found him guilty of being indirectly responsible for the killing of thousands of Palestinian refugees. I believe he got the nick from the Palestinians and not the tribunal.

They found him indirectly responsible because they thought he could've done a better job preventing it. No Israeli thinks that he ordered it or oversaw it.

Z, his involvement was a little stronger than that. The Israelis has the camp surrounded when the Christian Lebanese went in and raped and killed. The Israelis saw a serious oversight and breach in his command; the Palestinians saw complicity.

>>{Arafat's} axe is the fact that Israel exists. Sharon's is the man who is killing thousands of his people. There's quite a difference.

>BS........Israel's existence has not been in question for decades. I am tired of this violin for Israel......its outdated. Israel is a powerful state wanting to stop suicide bombings in its midst and doing whatever it thinks is appropriate to make that happen.

All it would take is one atomic bomb and Israel is basically done as a state. If Israel reverted to its '67 borders, it would also be highly in danger. Besides, though Israel may be secure, that doesn't mean that Arafat doesn't think he can destroy it.

All it would take is one good size bomb, and this world would be finished, let alone Israel. No one plays now with the small ones we used in Japan. The current A-bombs would seriously damage the world's atmosphere and ecological systems.

Arafat knows he can not destroy Israel; why do you think they use suicide bombers? Its because they don't have weapons of mass destruction.

Instead, he's working very hard to turn world public opinion against Israel. That way he thinks he will have better leverage against Israel when he negotiates for a Palestinian state.

>How many times has he gone in and out? He says he's pulling out, only to renege on those words. He will pull out when he is good and ready. And with the attitude we get from him, I would cut off our aid to Israel.

Sharon pulls out until there's another flurry of terrorist attacks. That's not reneging on his words.

Bull. Finally now, he is starting the pull out.
