seems like QCOM still thinks it is the bubble years and that investors think that it is cool when they move earnings announce up.

I suspect that they will put lots of positive spin on things. I suspect that it will be good to be long QCOM tomorrow. But....I could very well be wrong. My position is pretty small either way.
