ZH - One day this year it is going to become clear that we are in a huge recovery. If the Friday numbers are as big as they portend then I really have no idea why it shouldn't have been apparent from the CEOs during this earnigns season. But it clearly hasn't.

Maybe we, the marekt focus on the old favorites. Maybe we focus on telecom or rather those aspects of telecom that took the spotligth two years ago. But telecom does have winners or rather winner and it is going from owning the ipr on 15% of World mobile industry to 100% of world mobile industry. Its only a matter of time. This year indeed today may signal the start of it.

LD is dead. There has always been an unsustainable market in LD with price variations of 1000% for the same service. Leased line and internet business of the big carriers is under huge priec pressure and technology pressure. Those big quasi monopolies are unsustainable and their business case must come under pressure. Same for old wireless. Just a commoditiy now. And it stands to reason that you can't have ever increasing Global handset numbers of 400 - 500m. There are noly 6bn people on earth and a good amny can't afford a bowl of rice nevermind monthly ARPUs.

Such a lot of talk about capex redutions especially INTC dowqn from $7bn to $5bn this year, BUT this years capex is still bigger than all the years in the 90s.

As the article relates small companies were hit worse than at any time in history. It was the biggest shock to the economy in history. No wonder copanies are nervous about spending in anything till they see the economy. But they will and then they will spend and they will all be moaning that they can't get their cap equipment and no discounts etc etc.

That could turn around on a dime wit hsome good numbers on Friday.

Sentiment and confidence are what makes the economy tick, not the VIX or heads and shoulders nor talk of 1,400 or laughing at others misfortunes or even worse from some opsters. All of that talk grows and flourishes in an environment where the economy can't seem to find direction. It will end like the sun on the mornign mist on the day that it becomes clear that the recovery is real and in full swing.

Best,

L
