CURE Curative Health profit rises on sales, acquisitions
MINNEAPOLIS, April 24 (Reuters) - Curative Health Services, Inc. (NasdaqNM:CURE - news), a provider of biopharmaceuticals and outpatient wound care, on Wednesday reported a higher first-quarter profit, boosted by strong sales and acquisitions.
Curative Health posted earnings of $2.1 million, or 19 cents per share, compared with $500,000, or 7 cents per share, a year ago.
Total revenues for the first quarter jumped 68 percent to $22.8 million. The results also got a boost from the acquisitions of Hemophilia Access and Apex Therapeutic Care.
Looking ahead, the company expects to post 2002 revenue of about $130 million, and revised earnings per share to between 83 cents and 85 cents per share, up from an earlier view of 80 cents. The company forecast a second-quarter profit of 21 cents per share. |
