Guides Jun qtr to a loss of $0.02-0.10 and revenues of $87-92 mln, vs Multex estimates of a $0.06 profit and $91 mln revenues - notes that EPS guidance reflects dilutive effect of divesting photoblanks business and acquisition BindKey.

7:29AM Opening indications : Generally positive earnings reports last night are lifting the futures this morning; S&P futures are 6.5 pts above fair value while Nasdaq 100 futures are 19.5 pts above fair value. AMZN and EXPE trading higher on strong earnings, but BGEN is off 1.7 pts after guiding future qtrs lower.

7:12AM Varian Semi upgraded at Robbie (VSEA) 45.49: Robertson Stephens upgrades to BUY from Mkt Perform and raises price target to $58 from $51 after the co beat estimates by a wide margin; expects VSEA to be a prime beneficiary from the move to sub-0.15 micron and sees recent ramp of spending at DRAM suppliers and foundries leading to Q3 orders up significantly over Q2. Raises FY02 rev/EPS ests to $297.2 mln/($0.34) from $223.0 mln/($1.25).

6:46AM Power-One beats by two cents (PWER) 8.09: Reports Q1 (Mar) loss of $0.07 per share, $0.02 better than the Multex consensus of ($0.09); revenues fell 71.5% year/year to $48.4 mln vs the $46.5 mln consensus. Guides Q2 to a loss of $0.05-0.07 and revenues of $50-55 mln vs consensus estimates of a loss of $0.07 and $49.9 mln.
