hdl, More and more, our courts are turning into the Soviet Union from the 1950s. Merely show trials. I have been amazed at how different the results are in divorce hearings when the judge is a man and when it is a woman. They can't convict OJ and I'll bet they'll have problems with Little Beaver, er, Robert Blake. Yet, some other defendant can't afford a great lawyer and gets a huge sentence. In Texas, we have the story of the defense lawyer who couldn't stay awake and how the conviction appeal was denied. You are allowed a lawyer. He doesn't have to be awake. Juries are more and more comprised of folks who are too dumb to make up an excuse. I'm one of them. I won't make up an excuse, even though being on a jury for a minor car accident is nearly a total waste of everyone's time. Oh, well, as usual, I just have complaints and no answers. I am a simple mind in a complex world. Sort of like our President. <g>
