Hi Jane,

Emeryville left me a bad impression. My 15 year old son was beat up by a bunch of gang bangers there, about 4 years ago. I know it could have happened plenty of other places. Just don't go out after dark.<g>

I would recommend going south for the beaches. Only problem is traffic. Of course that's a problem almost anywhere in the bay area.
