The oil business is trying to take over Alaska 100%. They already control it 75%. Add to that the timber and mining industries and they'll do the same thing to Alaska as they did to the lower 48, that is "harvest" the whole damn place except for a few national parks. Problem is, once you harvest it, it never comes back. The damage lasts centuries, maybe forever. So we have to be very careful. Alaska's wildlands are already under enormous stress. In the last 40 years we've razed and over-fished and spilled oil so much that - well you get the idea. Alaska is no longer out of sight out of mind.
