Like I said I know I left out an awful lot of what I think becomes second nature as we learn from our mistakes. Gems was an easy pick based on the fundamentals. But the insider buying wasn't really near as strong as I would have liked to see when it did occur. With earnings slowing and Wall Street bailing it takes guts to buy like you did that day that GEMS hit 8. We didn't know until later that insiders were picking up more shares then too! But fundamentally the company was far too sound to be at that low level for long. One of the things that made my purchase easier was the overall insider buying throughout the cellular and paging industries. This is what you said in your last post to me >>i'd just add specficslly what was implied in your
points - pick stocks with potential high eps growth with, as you said, a low pe due
to a one time issue that sent wall street running.<<

I'd like to point out as well that it's better to purchase a stock that has both great fundamentals, good research and development, a diverse product line with a central focus and high market share, and a good chance of increasing revenues and earnings. I don't mind at all doing this with a recently downgraded stock whose earnings estimates have just been reduced. That makes the stock cheaper and earnings estimates easier to beat! Regards, Jeff
