I recall there were Native cultures in North America which embraced the homosexual variance as a positive and valuable addition to the infinite uniqueness of the human family.

I'm struggling to think of a way in which the world is better off that some of its human inhabitants prefer their own gender as sex partners. I suppose it might be advantageous if one is concerned about the population explosion. I'm hard pressed to think of anything else. That's not the same as saying that the presence of this sexual variant is a negative--although things would certainly be simpler and easier if we were all heterosexual--only that I don't see how this particular kind of diversity produces societal benefits. Do you know of any?
