If compensation is to work, other nations would have to accept Palestinians as eventual citizens. That's where the Arab states especially could make a most effective contribution to peace.

Sure they could. They just don't want to. They haven't wanted to for the last 55 years. Have you noticed that they derive quite a bit of benefit from the continued conflict?

Did you know that in the 1950's Iraq was so underpopulated that they advertised for immigrants, offering quick citizenship as an incentive? The offer was open to any Arab...except Arab refugees from Palestine.
