flowers ....
just got back from WalMart ... family friend called from her cell phone and said they were unloading some nice looking impatiens ....
I bought all they had ..... *(all 36) ....
there are plenty of various colored ones, but Mar likes white in the dozen or so pots on the rear deck outside the sun room windows ...... now, all I need are a hundred or so more ......ggggg
back to your question of morning sun .... begonias would be my preference from your description.... the "annual" type of begonia, NOT the tuberous kind...
there are mannnnnnnny kinds of begonias, but basically there are two main groupings of the annuals of their species ..... many different colors of flowers (you can pick from white, pink, salmon, red, bright red, maroon, etc) but the leaf type comes down to a) fairly bright green leaves b) dark green/maroon leaves
the a) type will work in partial shade but a lot of sun will wilt them *(you WON'T have this problem with only morning sun) the b) type will work in partial to full sun .....
so ----- depending upon which plant your wife favors ....either of them will do the job for you ......
I promise, you'll love begonias ..... and they will be very pretty if you frame them at the rear of the bed with dusty miller .... beautiful gray and will set off the lower flowering begonias ...... even tho they will take a bit more water than the moss rose you had ....
Last spring I planted five hundred or so of the begonias of both types of leaf .. some with white flowers, some with pink, and some with red ...
my favs are the dark maroon/green leafed ones with the bright RED flowers .... I did pick up a couple of flats of them when I got the impatiens just now ..... along with a dozen quart sized lantanna for the small bed we have on the corner of the lot where the two streets intersect......
I WILL have a new digital camera by the time they are larger and I'll take some pics ......
promise the photos will be better than Ron's .... hehehehehe |
