Neophytes, right! Its been very powerful watching professional diplomats putting together a peace process for Israel/Palestine, and watching them catch bin Laden and putting him on trial.

The reality is that the current administration has the absolute best foreign policy team in the last 50 years -- bar none. The foreign policy for the previous eight years was nonexistent.

We've talked about what presidents don't have much to do with (the economy) but presidents DO have EVERYTHING to do with foreign policy. And Clinton's was worse than either Carter's or LBJ's -- pretty low standards to measure by.

The Bush administration has been met with challenges thousands of times more difficult than those encountered by the amateurs of the previous administration. We can only be grateful that we have pros managing this situation.

When it is said and done, I think Bush has an excellent chance of helping to bring about peace between Israel & the Palestiniens; a tough challenge given the foreign policy mess he inherited, combined with 9/11.
