Headline: NTT Chooses Raptor Systems' Eagle Firewall For Customers' Networks

======================================================================
WALTHAM, Mass., July 10 /PRNewswire/ -- NTT (Nippon Telegraph and
Telephone Corporation), the world's largest telecommunications service
provider, has recently chosen Raptor's Eagle firewall, and its associated Five
Domains of Security products, as the major security component in the high
quality network solution program named "NEW BL-3000" for the company's network
systems integration business. NTT believes the demand for security devices
like the Eagle firewall will dramatically increase in the coming years.
In providing "NEW BL-3000" information system solutions for its customers,
NTT employs various domestic and imported network equipment, chosen through
the company's open international procurement program.
This spring NTT held seminars in 4 major cities -- Tokyo, Osaka, Sapporo
and Fukuoka -- in order to fully acquaint its nation-wide sales force with
"NEW BL-3000." More than 1500 systems engineers and systems integrators
participated in the seminars, which will soon be offered to NTT's customers as
well.
Raptor's Eagle is supplying not only the firewall between the Internet and
the Local-Area Network (LAN), but also provides NTT with client-to-client VPN
(Virtual Private Network) capability and comprehensive corporate network
security among subnets.
The Eagle runs on both UNIX and the increasingly popular Windows NT
platform, offering the same functions and capability on both platforms. It
also provides a user-friendly Graphical User Interface (GUI) called "Hawk" to
manage the firewall. By combining a "best-fit" access rule method and a fail-
safe architecture, the Eagle offers the most comprehensive network security
available. Hawk GUI also securely monitors and configures remote firewalls
via the Internet with a private encryption mechanism.
The Eagle runs on standard computer systems and operating systems. It
automatically, intelligently and continuously hardens the firewall computer
against attacks to ensure that the firewall system itself is secure. The
Eagle can also detect, trace and log suspicious activity and report such
activity to administrators by e-mail, FAX, pagers and SNMP traps.
Raptor provides a complete line of security products -- including Eagle,
THE WALL, and THE WALL Xtended -- to address the Five Domains of security that
exist throughout an enterprise. These include not only the Internet, but also
intranet firewalls and access control software, integrated virtual private
networking for mobile users, remotely deployed firewalls and overall
enterprise security management.
