Interesting to hear that you don't use options, yet you have shorts. Shorts have theoretical unlimited risk, while a put option lets you set a limit to the risk.

I've also found that having call options on NEM or ASA is a great way to trade and take profits while holding on to all the valuable juniors and exploration plays that you acquire from reading the great ideas on this thread and from Russ and Claude. With options, you HAVE to sell them. Taking those profits in options makes it easier to hang on to a critical mass of stock before the "big move" we know is coming. Holding options also provides huge leverage in the major producers in the case of a major price spike.

P.S. Funny how the rest of the world thinks the action in PM stocks is already a "big move." Yet it's really just a small indication that the big show is about to begin.
