Lucent Eyes Bigger Slice of Chinese Market Thursday April 25, 11:37 AM sg.news.yahoo.com HANGZHOU, April 25 Asia Pulse - Lucent Technology Co. Ltd, the world's largest producer of telecommunications facilities, is currently conducting a tour of China to introduce its products and services with the aim of expanding its share of the country's market. In Hangzhou, capital of eastern China's Zhejiang province and the second stop on Lucent's trade-promotion tour, Lucent on April 24 held a symposium to recommend its database network solution projects to local network users from government, schools and businesses. So far, Lucent has launched seven regional offices, eight research and development centers, eight joint ventures and three wholly foreign-owned companies in China. To date, about 75 per cent of the world's top 500 companies including Microsoft, Siemens and Motorola have launched businesses in China. (XIC)
