Just a general question to the accounting types. If Tyco bought CIT for about 10 billion in stock back when the stock was about 50. If they sell CIT for the IPO of 7 Billion and use proceeds to buy back stock at say 25. Wouldnt the end result be we have the orginal TYCO back with 80,000,000 less shares? Thats assuming they didnt spin off any assets or divisions before now ( I think they did). I know managment has lost credibility to the public but this doesnt seem to be a financial disaster Assuminf CIT goes for over 5 Billion.
