Stan, I'll just add a little more to your posting: CNIL may still apply for people claiming capital gains exemptions on qualifying farm properties and qualifying shares of 'private corporations', but since there is no longer a capital gains exemption for publicly traded investments, CNIL is not applicable for most of us.
