Aren't you kind of weighting the scales in opposite directions? HP is the #2 computer company in the _world_, not just SGI's niche. They are 10x bigger than SGI and have excellent management. When Teej was T. rex, he called HP "the best printer company in the world", and it was a real left-handed thigh-slapper because SGI was flailing them by every financial measure, but today SGI's growth and margins are inferior to HP's. In the long run there just isn't an ecological niche for a company smaller than HP & Sun, that goes head-to-head with them and has lesser financial performance. > In the end, for this quarter, earnings alone, will rule or die. With this, I agree.
