This is why I like Hospice. It takes the burden of medical prolongation off the case as an issue in the patients treatment. Acceptance of the course of the patient, one that includes the inevitability of an imminent death is at the foundation of their treatment. They work toward the alleviation of pain and suffering. Social, psychological, and spiritual assistance are interwoven into the medical treatment.
