gold chemistry

i have been scanning the nem 10-K lately, and i wonder if someone one here knows gold extraction chemistry and technology. i really only want to know what kind of cyanide is used in the heap leaching method, e.g., sodium cyanide (hope it's not this), potassium cyanide, etc., but i won't be unhappy if i am inundated with info about gold extraction. does anyone have direct links to this kind of stuff?

i think i understand the gold sulfide extraction method. apparently they roast the ground ore using heat, pressure, and oxygen to get the sulfides off the gold molecules. i suppose they get sulfur dioxide with this process.

another method uses a carbon electode, some kind of cyanide solution, and water with finely ground ore. this method sounds very similar to the way aluminum is extracted with carbon electrodes. this gold extraction method must use a ton of electricity.

thanks for any help.
