"More than the "prohibition," it is the "authorization" that causes me to be stuck on this issue. It is apparently the reverse for you No, it is not the reverse for me. I would like the government to stop prohibiting (through the vehicle of promissory sanctions), the cooperative efforts of a physician and her patient to bring a dignified and easeful end to life--something which I believe is inherently rightful.
