Short Interest as of Apr. 15, 2002 is essentially unchanged from March at 4,552,249 Shares outstanding. However average daily volume is down to 190,754 shares traded for a whopping total of 23.86 days to cover. Looks like the shorts have not taken advantage of the price drop to reduce the Short Interest. Given todays move upward, albeit on low volume, it may prove interesting as we move forward from here.
There has certainly been a lot of publicity given to the move toward Lithium Polymer Batteries in a variety of large scale applications over the past few weeks. I have been particularly struck by the increasing likelihood of seeing this technology in the upcoming 14Volt/42Volt automobile batteries scheduled to start showing up sometime next year. Let's hope this time Valence is ready to deliver on the promise.
