Duplicate post to the Intl thread.

Tony, I've been listening to Andy Bryant and his talk about die cost vrs some unnamed hypothetical competitor who's been running their mouth off about cost advantage. Basically he said don't believe their claims of a die cost advantage because their yields stink. Not his exact words of course but the Readers Digest condensed version. Andy seems to be claiming a 50% yield advantage for Intel although his metric seems to be unclear. If we simply use the numbers derived from AMD's CC, Wanna came up with ~90GDPW, with a 50% advantage, Andy seems to be claiming Intel is getting ~135 GDPW, even with a much larger die. While I can't comment on Intel's yields<GGG> I find this rather interesting.....
