Thanks for the Segway link CB. I do like to see creative developments like that rather than new ways to hack heads off and repress this that or the other type of person, even if the technological development isn't earth-shaking. Actually, on the design of the Segway, I don't see why they bother with the handlebars. If a person can stand and walk, they should be able to stand on a Segway and make it go and stop by just leaning forwards or back, just as they do when walking. To turn, just lean a little in the direction wanted. I suppose people just feel a bit weird standing on a moving thing without something to hold onto, though they give up holding onto coffee tables when learning to walk by the time they turn two [or one]. Maybe a bit of practise and they'd be happy without handlebars. Then they could carry suitcases, grocery bags or golf clubs without handlebars getting in the way. Mq
