John, US companies know that they can report fake earnings for many years and push up stocks, then write off most of those fake earnings and not be penalized because they are "one time events." The Japanese are not sophisticated enough to know that falsely reported earnings count, but correctly reported writeoffs don't. <G< The buck is having a bounce this morning. My guess is nobody wants to go home short over the weekend.
