I think your best bet is to ignore any and all progress with IA-64, and assume it's already dead. Ignore any demo, press release, announcement, or word-of-mouth. There is obviously zero potential.

In fact, you should put me on your ignore list, too. I might just do something silly, and mention Itanium 2 at some point down the road, and you certainly wouldn't want to hear the news.
