some of what you are touching upon involves dishonesty, not just greed

i truly think that greed begins where 'need' leaves off and 'want' begins

and i also believe that despite the negative connotation

greed can be good

a business owner could say, for instance, that he is a greedy man, and that the moment you walk into his store to make a purchase, he wants your future business. so he then sets about serving you, the customer, in such a manner as to assure your return.
