This Ha'aretz Editorial Makes Too Much Sense...

Yep, I've been curious about the economic effects on Israeli society. It seems to me there are three factors: the costs of occupation, the increased military costs (more troops, replace weapons, etc.), and lowered tax revenues. By the way, does anyone have any idea how large a proportion of Israel's GDP is from tourist dollars?

How do these economic matters play into the defense calculus? And, given the widespread criticism of Sharon that he has no plan beyond the recent West Bank incursions, how will they handle the economics?
