Top Telecommunications Infrastructure Industry CEOs to Lead Discussion of State of Industry
ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- In response to the increasingly complex and challenging issues shaping the direction and growth of the telecommunications infrastructure industry, the Personal Communications Industry Association (PCIA) has developed the most comprehensive educational program dedicated to the industry to date. Homeland security, site safety, federal and state regulatory compliance and co-location are a few of the issues impacting the current and future state of the tower and antenna siting industry. These topics and others will be featured at the 5th Annual PCIA Tower and Site Management Forum, May 15 - 17 in Hollywood, Florida.
Industry leaders will assemble to address the critical issues that affect generating new revenue streams and creating new markets for tower and antenna companies. For example, new growth sectors are emerging as a result of homeland security buildout, a robust co-location market, and consumers' desire for higher quality and more reliable services. Yet there are marketplace, regulatory and technical hurdles for even the most promising areas.
Chief executives from the four largest tower companies, whose businesses represent the backbone of the wireless industry, will play key roles in exploring these and other issues. Stephen Clark, President, CEO, Director of SpectraSite Communications, Inc. SITE; Steven Dodge, Chairman and CEO of American Tower Corp. AMT; John Kelly, President and CEO of Crown Castle International CCI; and Jeffrey Stoops, President and CEO of SBA Communications Corporation SBAC will participate in a roundtable session to discuss how spectrum, new technologies and consolidation are impacting the growth of the wireless industry in general, and tower companies in particular.
Linda Blair, Deputy Director of the Homeland Security Policy Council at the Federal Communications Commission is also slated to address conference participants. Additional speakers include representatives from Wall Street and venture capital firms, regulatory and legal experts, wireless carriers and other tower industry professionals.
The event is expected to grow by nearly 40 percent this year, with more than 350 attendees and more than double the number of exhibitors and sponsors of the 2001 show. Attendees and exhibitors include tower companies, financial institutions and venture capital firms, wireless carriers, rooftop developers, property owners, construction firms, government regulators, and site acquisition and zoning specialists.
