Easy to be bearish after a big sell-off. The analysts love to get pessimistic and be monday morning quarterbacks, or optimistic after a big run-up. Sometimes they're total contrarian indicators.

It has been wise lately to buy gold and avoid the long side but will it continue to be? Could be just the opposite.

Besides, I am not investing short-term anymore. Everything I buy I am willing to hold at least six months. Trading these days is perilous. You can however make money trading if you're quick (or dead). As predicted, earnings brought about sell-offs. But will that end this coming week? Who knows, because foreign affairs could go pro or con any time. Everyone was scared of Afghanistan but look what happened. Same could be true of palestine. Iraq is the wild card.
